Prepare for your trip
Espace Ulys is a great place to start preparing for your trip to Lyon. The website offers information on how to find accommodation for short- to medium-length stays, applying for visas, learning French and daily life in the city.
If you are a US passport holder planning to stay in France for 90 days or less, you may qualify for a visa exemption.
We will contribute a fixed amount toward your airfare once the trip has been completed. Please send your documentation (including ticket receipt and boarding passes) to Jill Ware upon your return to process the reimbursement.
Northwestern employees who will be travelling abroad are advised to complete the online application for the free GeoBlue Global Health Insurance. You only have to sign up once to be covered for any additional travels abroad.
After you return
Upon your return please send a short report on your visit, including a list of talks and other relevant academic activities, to the FIG director.
